YouTube Videos FAQs

Generally speaking, the video URL will be displayed on the right side of the video and in a text box named "Embed".

  • Q6: Any Video (DVD) Converter fails to convert a YouTube video. It says “insert failed”. Any idea?

If you receive this error message "Cannot get media information from video file…pv.mp4, insert failed" while trying to add a YouTube video into the converter, it’s probably that the video file name contains non-English character. Please modify the file name and try again.

To avoid downloading YouTube videos which have non-English file name not being recognized by the converter, please go to Edit > Options > Online Video, and then uncheck “Use HTML Title as output file name” option before downloading.

Go to the left panel, click Downloaded option, click YouTube option, right click on the downloaded file in the middle panel, and then choose “Open File Location”.

Yes, click Edit > Options > Online Video and choose file format. For more information of the codecs and quality of YouTube Videos, please visit HERE. 854x480 FLV videos will be available in later versions of Any Video Converter.

  • Q9: How to download the videos without converting?

After pasting the video URL links, right-click on the center panel and choose Download All Online FLV Files or Download Selected Online FLV. Clicking CONVERT button will lead to both downloading and converting.

  • Q10: I get "Winsock failed" error while trying to download YouTube video. How do I fix that?

Please make sure the URL you pasted is a right YouTube URL and please make sure you have connected to internet and YouTube is not blocked in your country.

Please also make sure you have allowed this action in your firewall or anti-virus program because sometimes firewall or anti-virus program may interfere with downloading and converting YouTube. If you don't know how to configure the settings, you can temporarily disable it.

Or, please try again by removing the username/password from the Online Video tab (Edit->Options->Online Video).

If problem persists, please send us the URL links of YouTube videos which you can't download and we will have a test.
